I swear this time I actually didn’t buy these books, rather they were gifts from a good friend of mine. I thought I’d share them with you guys because both of them seem super good and super interesting!
Still Alice: A Novel by Lisa Genova
My friend has already read this one and it’s about a woman who develops Alzheimer’s while she is teaching as a professor. I haven’t met anyone with the disease yet, but I can’t even imagine what it must be like for the families of Alzheimer’s patients. I don’t actually know when I’ll get around to reading this, but I’ll definitely review this one!
I’ve seen this book at Chapters, but I was never really sure what it was about. After reading the synopsis from the back cover, this story seems like it’s right up my alley. The girl in the cover reminds of me of this one famous National Geographic photograph titled Afghan Girl. I think it was featured on Oprah as well. Anyways I’m looking forward to reading both books.
That’s it from me for this book haul. Have you read any of these books? If you have, what did you think of them?
Cheers,
Savindi

Still Alice is a splendid story that will make you cry (or at least tear up)! As for Sold, I’ve heard heartbreaking and wonderful things about it, though I haven’t actually read it myself – looking forward to your thoughts on it if you decide to review it.
My friend who gave me the book said it’s one of her favourites. Hopefully it becomes one of mine as well! I haven’t heard too much about Sold. I’ve seen at the bookstore, but I didn’t really go and see what it’s about. I’ll let you know my thoughts when I read it
.
Alzheimer is a horrible disease. My Great Auntie used to live in a Care Home and lots of the patients had it, it was really sad to see them. The book will probably be a teary one. Hope you enjoy it nevertheless!
It really is a horrible disease. To not know your own self, that’s really tragic.I know that a lot of care homes have their own wards for patients with Alzheimer. I’ll let you know how I like the book!
